Grade 431 / 1.4057 Stainless Steel Suppliers and Stockholders
Dynamic Metals is a specialist supplier and stockholder of 431 stainless steel (W.Nr 1.4057, formerly EN57), supplying bar, sheet and plate with no minimum order quantities on stock items since 1997.
431 is a martensitic stainless steel with 15-17% chromium with a slight amount of nickel (1.25-2.50%) alloying element and belongs to W.Nr 1.4057 steel grade, or EN57 steel grade before. Increased chromium content makes 431 more resistant to corrosion while preserving its typical qualities of being strong and hard, making martensitic stainless steel useful for engineering purposes.
Strength of this steel grade is acquired via quench and temper heat treatment providing tensile strength values in the interval between 862-1000 MPa based on tempering temperature. Heat treatment properties of the alloy are rather good allowing one to achieve desired hardness for each particular case of application.
431 steel grade has high adaptability for those cases when there is a necessity of simultaneous presence of corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. Typical applications include pump and propeller shafts, valve stems, marine hardware and fasteners, aircraft fittings, etc. High polishability makes it possible to use 431 in those cases when surface quality is important as well.
Stocked by Dynamic Metals in bar, sheet and plate, grade 431 is available in different sizes for next-day shipment in standard dimensions. There is no minimum order quantity for stock products.
